Minante and Peter's Wedding at Pollock Halls, Edinburgh
Earlier this year Minante and Peter got married in South Africa. Many of their friends and family, who live in Scotland, were unable to attend the ceremony so, in the best of Scottish traditions, they held a Ceilidh as a second wedding reception.
They chose Pollock Halls in Edinburgh to host their reception. Pollock Halls is a great venue and perfect for a night of Scottish dancing. It’s really easy to enjoy yourself there.
The chefs cooked a fantastic 3 course meal, elegantly served by the waiting staff, which provided the perfect energy boost for a night of whirling and twirling to music. After speeches from Minante and Peter, the tables were cleared and the band began to play their music.
All the guests got up to dance and it made the room a real hub of fun and laughter. The band and their caller were great at keeping the energy going too.
What was really touching about this wedding was Minante and Peter, who are such a thoughtful couple. During the evening, when the dancing took on a slower pace, a waiter appeared with a pint of water, sent over by Minante and Peter, to make sure that we took a rest too, and a moment to enjoy the fun that everyone else was having. That 5 min sit down, watching all the guests laughing, talking and dancing was heart-warming and reminds us why we love to photograph weddings so much.
